The service
MyGeneRoots provides a photo-based ancestry estimate from facial landmarks and the traits you enter. Reports are for entertainment and education. They are not genetic tests, medical advice, or proof of identity, citizenship, or ancestry.
Your photos
Only upload photos you have the right to use. A clear, front-facing photo works best. Landmarks are detected automatically after you add a photo.
Accuracy
Results are probabilistic clusters against facial reference profiles. They can be wrong. Do not make legal, medical, or family decisions based on a scan.
Accounts and scans
Scan packs unlock deeper photo-estimate panels. Credits are consumed when a scan runs. Purchases are processed by Stripe and/or Razorpay. Staging environments may grant extra unlocks for testing; that does not change these terms on a production site.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse the API, attempt to extract reference databases, or upload others’ photos without permission.
